What is an App-O-Rama? AOR for short.
Wow!
That's a lot of credit cards huh? Well don't be surprised
because that's not even half of my
collection. And don't be jealous because you too can
have too many credit cards to count one day.
With the right preparation and research, you will soon
be on your way to earning an extra $500 or
more per month off interest! Already think you know
the basics? Check out our
App-O-Rama tips!
Here are the basics:
- Find a bunch of credit cards that have introductory
0% APR offers on balance transfers.
- Also look for credit cards that will give you some kind
of points or bonus when you sign up.
- Example: The AMEX Gold
Card gives you 10,000 points redeemable for a $100
gift card.
- Then you apply for all of them in one day, usually
around 20 credit cards.
- Take the new credit lines you were hopefully approved
for and place them in:
- high-yield saving
accounts
- CDs
- reward checking accounts
- Sit back and watch your money earn 2-7% interest.
- Don't forget to pay the minimum payments on your credit
card!
Where it gets complicated:
- You should only try doing an AOR if you have a high
credit score to anticipate good results.
- Credit scores under 700, forget about it, do your
research and prepare until your score improves.
- Find credit cards that have capped balance transfer
fees. Uncapped offers aren't worth it.
- Example: Issuers usually
charge 3% of the BT amount with a $5 min. and $99
max.
